Departmental Analyst-Fiscal Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. Possession of a bachelor's degree in public or business administration, accounting, or related field; and one year of professional experience performing analytical work related to evaluating budgets and programs; or,
2. possession of an associate's degree in business or related field; and three years of experience performing duties equivalent to a Departmental Assistant, Senior with Santa Barbara County; or,
3. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Additional Requirements: Some positions may require a valid California Class C Driver's License.

Knowledge of: principles and practices of business and/or public administration; principles and practices of budgeting to prepare and monitor budgets; research, analytical and data collection techniques to prepare reports; basic purchasing processes and procedures to properly acquire goods and services; and contract terminology and procedures to understand terms and conditions of contracts.

$23.42-$28.60 every hour / $4,074-$4,973 monthly / Range: 5656

Departmental Analyst-Fiscal-Restricted (#2164)

$24.26-$29.61 every hour / $4,219-$5,150 monthly / Range: 5726

Definition: Under general direction, performs analytical work related to budget development, department programs, grants, and/or contracts; and performs related work as required.
