1. Two years of expert-level experience in systems programming or
2. two years of experience performing duties equivalent to the class of EDP Systems Programmer III or EDP Office Automation Specialist II with Santa Barbara County that included participation in enterprise-wide strategic information technology planning; or,
3. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge of: computer operating systems and computer security; network routing and protocols; performance and capacity monitoring and measurement; project planning, management, and reporting; modern management and supervisory practices; principles of program performance budgeting.
Job Description: The EDP Technical Support Manager is distinguished from the EDP Systems Programmer III and EDP OA Specialist II classes by its responsibility for planning and directing the activities of Technical Support section staff or for developing Countywide IT strategic plans.
