1. One year progressively responsible experience in a commercial or institutional laundry with supervision responsibilities; or,
2. one year working within the classification of Sheriff's Utility Worker with Santa Barbara County; or,
3. equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge of: methods and practices used in cleaning, laundering and repair of clothing and bedding; various cleaning supplies, soaps, solvents and disinfectants; operation of washing machines and dryers; methods of inventory; training and supervision; techniques used in simple tailoring of clothing.
Job Description: This class is responsible for laundry inventory and cleaning services for the County Jail division of the Sheriff's Department. Incumbents train, plan, organize and supervise the work of a crew of inmates who operate laundry and stenciling machines.
About Salary: $15.25-$18.62 every hour / $2,653-$3,239 monthly / Range: 4796
Definition: Under direction, supervises and participates in the
laundering of clothing and bedding for the County Jail, and performs
other duties as may be assigned.
