Mail Center Worker Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. One year of clerical, mailroom, storekeeping, shipping and receiving, or delivery experience; or,
2. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Additional Requirements: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's License is required.

Knowledge of: basic recordkeeping and arithmetic, safe lifting and carrying practices; and safe driving rules and practices.


Job Description: This class is distinguished from Utility Clerk, Departmental by its primary assignments of providing a countywide courier service and processing U.S. mail. Utility Clerk, Departmental incumbents are usually assigned to specialized service areas within County departments.


About Salary: $13.81-$16.85 every hour / $2,401-$2,931 monthly / Range: 4596

Definition: Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties that include U.S. mail processing, interoffice courier service, surplus property transportation, and other related duties as assigned.
