Maintenance Electrician Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. One year of journey-level experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical devices and systems; or,
2. equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.

Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License may be required for some positions in this class.

Knowledge of: practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in the electrical trade; installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical equipment, apparatus, and instruments; laws, codes, rules, and standards pertaining to electrical construction and maintenance; safe work practices related to the building trades and electrical work.


Job Description: This class is distinguished from the Building Maintenance Worker series by its specialized responsibility for performing skilled electrical work in the maintenance of County facilities and equipment. Incumbents in the Building Maintenance Worker series perform more general maintenance duties and are assigned only basic electrical tasks in assisting a Maintenance Electrician.


About Salary: $20.86-$25.47 every hour / $3,629-$4,430 monthly / Range: 5424

Definition: Under general supervision, performs skilled electrical work in the maintenance, repair, and installation of new electrical systems and equipment; and performs related duties as assigned.
