Operations And Maintenance Manager Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. Three years of progressively responsible management or supervisory experience of a professional engineering staff; with a minimum of one year of experience implementing flood control maintenance and repair or construction programs, preferability including experience in the preparation of environmental documentation and permit processing; and a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in natural/physical sciences or engineering; or,
2. equivalent combination of training, education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge of: equipment, materials and methods used in the operation, maintenance and repair of flood control facilities; local, state and federal environmental regulations and permit processes; practice and procedures estimating costs, materials, labor and equipment needs, for repair and planned maintenance programs.


Job Description: This class is directly responsible for the maintenance and repair projects of the Santa Barbara County Flood Control and Water Conservation District. Incumbent is responsible for coordinating all surveying, inspection, construction, environmental document preparation and permit processing necessary for such project completion.

Definition: Under general direction, directs the maintenance and repair activities of the countywide Flood Control program; and performs duties as required.
