Ability To Work:
1. Possession of a Bachelor's degree and significant professional experience in: a) project management of multi-disciplinary team(s), preferably in the public sector or a service-oriented agency in the private sector; and, b) collections field; or,
2. equivalent combination of training, education, and experience which would demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge of: Principles and practices of project management; and process engineering and re-engineering techniques and practices; principles and practices of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounts receivable accounting standards, budget principles and revenue estimation; collections principles; automated data systems; principles and practices of business and public administration; research, analytical, and data collection techniques; principles and practices of management, supervision, and training; federal and state regulations related to collections; and budget administration.
Job Description: Project Managers are distinguished from departmental managers by primary assignment of highly skilled and specialized project management of time-limited highly technical projects. Project Managers are also distinguished from departmental managers by management of multi-disciplinary teams made up of professionals from all sectors of the County, external consultants, citizen participation advisors, members assigned from other governmental agencies, non profit organizations, and the private sector.
Responsibilities involve coordinating and managing complex information services including directing and installing a collection system and operations improvement of the Probation Department from initial submittal to completion; coordinating the planning, design, and redevelopment activities associated with private and public collections.

Definition: Under administrative direction, leads and directs a multi-disciplinary team evaluating the current Probation collection system and designing, implementing and managing a new collection system that will increase fines, fees, and restitution collected by the Probation Department. This is an at-will position, exempt from Civil Service provisions. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Chief Probation Officer.
