Ability To Work:
1. Three years of experience working at a refuse disposal or sanitary landfill site, preferably in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment; or,
2. one year of experience equivalent to the class of Refuse Leader with Santa Barbara County; or,
3. equivalent combination of training, education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge of: the functions and operations of a refuse transfer station or sanitary landfill site; refuse disposal regulations; service and repair requirements of heavy trucks and equipment; public service functions of refuse facilities; drainage and basic engineering principles of grading and elevation; principles of supervision; basic record keeping requirements; and basic principles of budgeting and purchasing.
Refuse Supervisor Job Description: Positions in this class are responsible for the overall supervision of refuse disposal, landfill, transport and truck repair operations at a refuse transfer station or sanitary landfill site.
Refuse Supervisor Salary: $25.62-$31.28 every hour / $4,457-$5,441 monthly / Range: 5836
Definition: Under general supervision, to supervise the operation of a refuse transfer station or sanitary landfill; and, to perform related duties as required.
