EDP Office Automation Coordinator Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. One year of experience working with office automation equipment which includes the use of spreadsheets, word processing, data base or other microcomputer software; or,
2. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge of: general concepts of microcomputer technology and related software; general principles of office automation systems; office procedures, equipment and inventory control.


Job Description: The Office Automation Coordinator class series differs from EDP Programmers in that emphasis in on assisting County departments in the purchase and use of personal computers and related equipment while programming classifications regularly perform mainframe computer programming. The series also differs from the EDP Office Automation Specialist in that the latter specializes in Local Area or Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) or Data Base Management. The EDP Office Automation Coordinator is the entry level in the series and handles less complex office automation projects, where the EDP Office Automation Coordinator, Senior in the advanced working journey level in the series and is expected to perform complex support tasks under minimal supervision.


About Salary: $25.24-$30.82 every hour / $4,390-$5,360 monthly / Range: 5806

Definition: Under direction, provides technical automation support to County departments in selection, configuration, installation, analysis and maintenance of automation hardware and software; trains and advises users in the use of microcomputer equipment and programs; provides support for personal computer users; and performs related tasks as assigned.
