1. three years of administrative and supervisory experience in an environmental health agency.
A master's degree in public health, health science, public administration, or a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Additional Qualifications: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License may be required.
Knowledge of: principles and practices of environmental health; state and federal laws governing environmental health; disaster response and public information practices during emergencies; principles and practices of supervision and performance management; current management theory and practice; organizational development; budget preparation and administration.
Job Description: This is a single-position classification that reports to the Community Health Division Manager. The incumbent serves in the statutory capacity of Director of Environmental Health, in accordance with the California Code of Regulation, Title 17, Section 1308, and provides the Community Health Division Manager, Health Officer, and other executive and management staff with technical expertise and policy recommendations regarding environmental health issues.
