1. Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent that included coursework in chemistry, biology, and physics; and one year of paid, volunteer, or academic experience which included interpreting or explaining rules or regulations; or,
2. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge of: basic record-keeping practices, basic research techniques.
Job Description: This class performs technical-level duties within environmental health programs. This class differs from that of the Environmental Health Specialist series in that the latter is responsible for full inspection, investigation, and enforcement duties.
About Salary: $18.27-$22.31 every hour / $3,178-$3,880 monthly / Range: 5158
Definition: Under direction, conducts water sampling and
inspections at sites subject to environmental health and safety
regulations; distributes information and explains environmental
health procedures and regulations to the public; assists in the
preparation of environmental reports and studies; and performs
related duties as required.
