1. Four years of facilities maintenance and operations experience that included some project/program budget preparation and monitoring, and contract administration; or,
2. two years as a Facilities Supervisor with Santa Barbara County, supplemented with training or experience in budget preparation and monitoring; or,
3. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Additional Qualifications: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License may be required.
Knowledge of: maintenance and preventative methods and procedures used in keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition and in maintaining and repairing utility systems and physical structures of buildings; budgeting and fiscal management; business practices followed to prepare bid specification, negotiate agreements and administer contracts; program planning and scheduling; building construction methods and materials; estimating practices, safety practices.
Job Description: This is a single-position class. The incumbent is responsible for managing the ongoing maintenance and repair of County facilities through subordinate supervisory staff. This class is distinguished from the Facilities Supervisor in that the latter is responsible for directing the day-to-day building maintenance activities in a geographical area.
