Possession of a current National or California EMT-1 certificate or National or California EMT-P license; or
You may apply if you are currently enrolled in an National or California EMT-1 or EMT-P course but you will not be appointed until you have obtained the required license.
Additional Qualifications:
* Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License. California Class B-Restricted Driver's License is required within one year of appointment.
* Applicants hired after December 26, 1988 shall be disqualified from further employment consideration if they use tobacco products in any form on or off duty.
Knowledge of: basic emergency medical techniques.
Job Description: This is a trainee-level classification and incumbents are expected to successfully complete the Firefighter Recruit Academy, receive the recommendation of the Fire Chief, and promote to Firefighter as a condition of continued employment.
About Salary: $22.48-$27.45 every hour / $3,911-$4,774 monthly / Range: 5574
Definition: Under immediate supervision, attends the Santa
Barbara County Fire Department Firefighter Recruit Academy to
receive instruction designed to qualify trainees for the
classification of Firefighter; and in a non-safety capacity; to
perform other duties as required.
