1. Three years of increasingly responsible experience in preparing, cooking, and serving food in large quantities, including one year of supervisory or leadworker experience; or,
2. graduation from an accredited culinary academy; or,
3. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Additional Qualifications: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License.
Knowledge of: principles and practices of quantity cooking, nutrition, dietetics, seasonal ordering, food handling and sanitation; sanitation measures used in the operation, cleaning, and care of kitchen utensils, equipment and work areas; principles of effective supervision; basic math and standard English usage.
Job Description: This class is distinguished from the classes of Cook and Sheriff's Institutions Cook in that a Food Services Supervisor conducts nutritional analyses, keeps records and prepares reports, and assumes greater responsibility for planning, organizing, and supervising food services and for compliance with government mandates.
About Salary: $21.09-$25.75 every hour / $3,669-$4,479 monthly / Range: 5446
