Food Services Worker Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. One year of experience in food set up, service, and clean up; or,
2. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Additional Requirement: Possession a valid California Class C Driver's License.

Knowledge of: standard units of measure and weight for liquid and solid food to portion out required quantities; basic math; basic practices for safe food storage and prevention of contamination; safe work practices in a kitchen; kitchen and floor cleaning and sanitizing products and proper usage.


Job Description: The emphasis of this class is on the serving of food, and the cleaning and maintaining of the kitchen and dining room facilities. This class is distinguished from the cook classifications, which are responsible for food preparation and cooking.


About Salary: $11.59-$14.15 every hour / $2,017-$2,462 monthly / Range: 4246

Definition: Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks involved in the serving of food in a secured detention facility; cleans and maintains kitchen utensils, equipment, and work area; and performs related duties as required.
