Human Resources Analyst Job Description

Ability To Work:

Human Resources Analyst I:

1. Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or,
2. two years of experience performing duties equivalent to a Human Resources Specialist with Santa Barbara County, supplemented by college coursework in English composition; or,
3. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge of: standard English grammar and usage; and basic math, including percentage, average, and mean.


Job Description: The Human Resources Analyst I is the entry-level class in the series. Incumbents receive close supervision and training in public human resource administration and are expected to obtain sufficient knowledge and proficiency to progress to the journey level. The Human Resources Analyst II is distinguished by incumbents' responsibility for projects of greater complexity and sensitivity, and for assignments requiring greater analytical ability and independent judgment.
