#Job Description For Hydrogeologist:

Hydrogeologist for our expanding natural gas services group. This individual will be responsible for drilling oversight, geologic logging, well construction, soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer testing and general site inspections.

#Primary Responsibilities:

1:Responsible for analyzing project objects and desired outcomes and for developing cost effective task plans to complete work on time and within budget.​
2:Assist in the development of project budget.​
3:Be responsible for the effective management of own time and effort in accordance with project priorities and objectives.​
4:Convey results and findings by means of oral discussions and presentations and project documentation.​
5:Prepare interim and completion project reports.​
6:Compile and present results of complex scientific studies.​
7:Plan, formulate and conduct scientific and field investigations in accordance with project objectives and requirements including well design and installation plus aquifer testing.​
8:Undertake groundwater modeling, hydrologic modeling, and hydrologic analysis.​
9:Apply scientific knowledge and methods to formulate solutions and approaches to problems in the areas of hydrogeological modelling, and water rights.​

#Job Experience And Requirements:

1:Willingness to travel including overnight as necessary
2:Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience
3:Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients and contractors and be a capable project and task manager
4:Aquifer testing and pump test analysis
5:Soil and groundwater investigations and sampling experience
6:Five or more years experience in the environmental consulting industry
7:BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology or related field
 

Ability To Work:

1. Possession of a Bachelor level degree in one of the physical sciences or civil engineering and one year of experience in a related specialized field or hydrologic work; or,
2. equivalent combination of training, education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities.

Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License.

Knowledge of: the principles and practices employed in hydrology, water supply, drainage, flood control, surface water, ground water, conservation, and other related aspects of hydrology; statistical analysis methods; computer operations; basic legal requirements governing public hydrologic programs; the permitting and environmental review requirements of water development projects.


Job Description: This is the journey level class where incumbents may be assigned hydrologic tasks within a specialized area such as resource, reclamation, conservation or flood control and overseeing interns. The Hydrologist differs from the Hydrologist, Senior, in that the latter is assigned more complex tasks that require utilization of original analytical techniques, defining and developing policy recommendations, with supervision of technical staff including Hydrologists.


 

About Salary: $28.48-$34.77 every hour / $4,953-$6,047 monthly / Range: 6048

Definition: Under general direction, conducts technical hydrologic research, prepares reports, and performs related duties as required.
