REAL PROPERTY AGENT I
1. Possession of an Associate's Degree or two years64 semester units or 94 quarter units of college coursework, preferably in real estate, business/public administration, or a related field; a valid certificate in real estate from an accredited college or university; or a real estate license issued by the state of California Department of Real Estate; or,
2. either a valid certificate in real estate from an accredited college or university or a real estate license issued by the state of California Department of Real Estate and one year of paraprofessional experience related to public or private sector real estate transactions including appraisal, leasing, engineering (as it relates to reading and interpreting drawings, plans, property maps and preliminary title reports), application or interpretation of real property law, or acquisition or disposal of real property or property rights; or,
3. two years of paraprofessional experience related to public or private sector real estate transactions including appraisal, leasing, engineering (as it relates to reading and interpreting drawings, plans, property maps and preliminary title reports), application or interpretation of real property law, or acquisition or disposal of real property or property rights; or,
4. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Additional Requirement: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License.
Knowledge of: standard English grammar and usage; basic math; basic computer applications for office use.
Job Description: Real Property Agent I is the entry- level class in which incumbents receive orientation and training, work under close supervision, and are expected to progress to the journey -level in a reasonable period of time. Real Property Agent II is the full journey -level, which is distinguished by incumbents' responsibility for projects of greater complexity and sensitivity and by incumbents' use of more independent judgment in planning, scheduling, and completing assigned projects.
