Refuse Leader Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. Two years of experience in the operation of heavy equipment;
2. one year of experience performing duties equivalent to the class of Heavy Truck Driver or Heavy Equipment Operator with Santa Barbara County; or,
3. equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required the knowledge and abilities.

Additional Requirements: Possession of a valid California Class A Driver's License is required.

Appointees to this classification will be subject to mandatory testing for drugs prior to beginning work; once on the job, incumbents will be subject to mandatory testing for drugs and/or alcohol on a random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up basis.

Knowledge of: tools, materials, methods and procedures used in the operation and maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment; accounting methods for receipt of cash and credit and personnel records.


Job Description: This class is distinguished from Heavy Truck Driver and Heavy Equipment Operator by the assignment of lead responsibilities in the operation of equipment at a refuse transfer station and/or land-fill disposal site.


 

About Salary: $23.66-$28.88 every hour / $4,115-$5,023 monthly / Range: 5676

Definition: Under general supervision, to lead and participate in the operation of heavy equipment at refuse sites; and to do related work as required.
