Ability To Work:
1. Four years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and operation of telephone communication systems and equipment which include at least two years of related supervisory or administrative experience and two years experience with a PABX system; or,
2. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge of: electronic office telephone system equipment and capabilities; related installation, maintenance, and repair practices; local telephone company interface equipment and procedures; operation and maintenance practices of PABX and electronic key system, tie lines, OPX circuits, trunk lines, and other equipment; networking and transmission systems; cost analysis and budgeting procedures; principles and practices of employee supervision, evaluation, and training.
Job Description: This single-position classification in the General Services Department reports to the Communications Manager and is responsible for overseeing the provision of County-wide telephone services.
Salary: $27.89-$34.05 every hour / $4,851-$5,922 monthly / Range: 6006
Definition: Under general supervision, supervises the installation and maintenance of the County's electronic telephone system and related equipment; consults with County departments to provide comprehensive telephone services and related training; regularly reviews service levels; plans and implements system changes; and performs other duties as required.
