Truancy Program Supervisor Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. A bachelor's degree in the behavioral or social sciences or a closely related field, and three years of experience providing professional services in a social service, non-profit, juvenile justice, education-related, or community-based program; or,
2. one year performing the duties equivalent to Truancy Program Social Worker Senior or Truancy Program Social Work Practitioner with Santa Barbara County; or,
3. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Desirable Qualification: one year of program coordination and/or supervisory experience.

Knowledge of: basic functions of social service and/or juvenile justice systems; resources provided by community-based and non-profit organizations; and standard English grammar and usage.


Job Description: The Truancy Program Supervisor is distinguished from the Truancy Program Social Worker, Senior and the Truancy Program Social Work Practitioner by its emphasis on program administration, community networking, and supervisory responsibilities whereas the other two classes are primarily responsible for counseling and assisting clients in obtaining social services in accordance with laws and regulations.


 

Salary: $25.98-$31.72 every hour / $4,519-$5,517 monthly / Range: 5864

Definition: Under general direction, directs the activities of the Truancy Intervention and Parent Accountability Program (TIPA) at a branch office of the District Attorney; supervises staff; and performs related duties as required.
