Workforce Resource Job Description

Ability To Work:

1. Possession of a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field and three years of experience managing employment training or vocational counseling services that included fiscal, project management, facilities management, and team-building responsibilities as well as provided knowledge of the Workforce Investment Act; or,
2. a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Additional Requirements: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License is required.

Knowledge of: the Workforce Investment Act; principles and practices of program and project management, group and team dynamics, organizational development, case management, and performance measurement systems; conflict or dispute resolution; team-building techniques; research, analytical, and data collection techniques; budget preparation and control; contract negotiations; principles of public relations, marketing, and facilities management; employment and training assessment systems; vocational counseling concepts; barriers to employment; and principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management.


Job Description: Workforce Resource Centers are the WIA One-Stop System centers and are staffed by multi-disciplinary, multi-agency teams of public, private, educational, and community-based organization professionals who provide the expertise and resources necessary to assist (1) employers with their workforce development needs, and (2) job seekers, including displaced and unemployed workers, youth, and the underemployed, achieve self-sufficiency.
